Life Update… (part one)
Over the past few months I have realized that in life, you can’t let the little things affect your character and perspective. As individuals we have to find strength by working through the struggles that have shadowed our past. Obstacles will consistently drain your emotions and in the end the same obstacles will establish the person you’ll become in the future. The biggest lesson I’ve learned living in Ukraine is that you must find beauty and joy all around you, the Ukrainian culture has taught me how to be lighthearted and to be strong at the same time.
Bad mentality will overpower you and before you have a chance to reflect, it will consume you. I advise you to find happiness in everything you see, find what makes your heart beat faster and treasure that feeling.
As for myself, I see beauty in everything, from the lovely flowers I encounter in nature (even though I can’t even keep a cactus alive) to the happiness my animals exude after finally finding their forever home with me. Learning to find joy from unexpected places was my answer to a positive lifestyle.
“It’s easy to impress me. I don’t need a fancy party to be happy. Just good friends, good food, and good laughs. I’m happy. I’m satisfied. I’m content.” – Maria Sharapova
