I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving Weekend! All week I was eating super healthy so I can stuff my face with all the delicious Thanksgiving food. I woke up fairly early on Thanksgiving day and began making my signature yellow cake with cream cheese frosting, its my go to dessert when I am short on time. While the cakes were baking, i carried on with my day: i made sure to feed all my animals, then I rushed to get myself ready.
Phew!! Cakes are ready, I am all dressed & now lets get on the road. First stop is Alex’s family, there were so many different kinds of food! I made sure to make my plate petite, because we still had one more thanksgiving dinner at my parents. My first plate was turkey, stuffing, with two types of salad. Oh, I didn’t forget a dessert. Alex’s aunt Patti made a fantastic caramel apple cheesecake that I couldn’t resist of having a piece before going to dinner #2. We got in our car and went on our way to my parents, this year we were thankful that we didn’t encounter any traffic. Which is a huge plus considering last year, we sat in two hours of traffic. We entered my parents home, with scents of all thanksgiving foods in the air. This year we added three more guests to my parents thanksgiving: Alex’s Mom and Grandparents Mike & Linda were able to make it. Did i mention that they brought desserts too? Alex’s Mom brought lemon bars and oatmeal cookies with cranberries, Mike & Linda brought chocolate mousse that had my favorite ingredient … “chocolate”!!! My uncle Robert and my two nephews Seth & Evan were able to make it as well, its always fun to see my little nephews. Dinner is ready! The table was set beautiful with candles everywhere to fill the air with holiday scents. Laughter started to fill the room, as we served the thanksgiving food and shared stories from the past. It was a great feeling seeing two families coming together so effortlessly.
Driving home with bellies stuffed with thanksgiving food, I couldn’t help but to think of all of the things I am thankful for this year. So I will end this post of the most wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with the three things that I am thankful for:
- My Family: My loving parents & all of my family. I am also thankful for all of Alex’s side of the family.
- My Animals Health.
- Happiness, Love & Success.
This holiday season, be thankful for all the things that surround you.
